Interior Designer for Houston Firm

Job Description

We are a cutting edge and award winning firm designing high-end Residential and Hospitality Interiors. In addition to our design firm we operate a boutique offering local, regional, and national lines of home furnishings, art and accessories. We are currently a team of 5 working together to create innovative and detailed interiors, and focusing on the growth of our firm. We provide design services, as well as purchasing and installation of furnishings for clients in Houston and throughout the US.

We are seeking a committed, part-time to full-time, interior design professional that thrives in a fast paced, team-based work environment. We require creativity, enthusiasm and efficiency. We are a fun, exciting group that enjoys our field, our projects, and our clients. You are an interior designer that works well conceptually and has fabulous follow through.

The ideal candidate has the following skill set:

• Bachelors degree in Interior Design from an accredited program

• 1+ years experience in high-end residential and/or hospitality design

• Licensed interior designer a plus

• Must develop polished presentations and budgets for new projects

• Create floor plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, lighting plans, custom furniture design etc in AutoCAD.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc…

• Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator or comparable a plus

• Knowledge of Studio Designer (Studio IT) a plus

• Must work on several projects at any given time

• Position requires polished communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Communicate extensively with vendors and clients.

• Manage contractors and oversee installations

• Create budgets for projects using Studio Designer (Studio IT) and Excel

• Source fabric, trim, furniture, lighting, fixtures, and accessories

• Work closely with project managers to order/expedite/receive/install projects

• Build FF&E specification packages

• Assist in maintaining the resource library

• General office duties, including sometimes answering the phone, sending packages etc…

• Must attend firm events

• Some travel required

• Professional, motivated, organized, takes initiative, attention to detail, follow through

• Functions well in a small but demanding and fast-paced firm

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with enforced deadlines

• The ability to achieve goals with little supervision while providing accurate, timely, and meaningful progress updates to Principals

• Must excel in all areas of communication and interact with clients and the public through verbal, written and graphic presentations

• Leverage your established industry relationships

This position requires a proactive approach with excellent follow-up; an ability to be self-motivated, work independently and also work well in a tight-knit team environment.
