PRODUCTION COORDINATOR (Los Angeles, CA)
High end contemporary Women’s designer apparel brand is seeking a talented and motivated Full-time Production Coordinator to join our team. This position requires a candidate with strong communication skills, one who is highly detailed and is a team player. Must have a clear understanding of patternmaking, marking and grading, garment construction and ability to meet deadlines in accordance with a detailed time and action calendar.
The Production Coordinator will be responsible for managing and following through all processes and relationships corresponding to production, including the maintenance of all labor purchase orders and/or cutting tickets along.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate & Manage all production relationships including factory direct relationships as well as agent relationships both domestic and overseas.
Create, Update and Manage production timelines with Design Director, ensuring that it flows accurately with the product development timeline.
Coordinate and implement Quality Control through all stages of production.
Ability to understand cost negotiations and produce cost sheets.
Work closely with the Buyer and Design Director, keeping all informed of any pertinent information.
Ensure a seamless relationship with the design team and buyer, keeping all informed of any pertinent information relating to production.
Keep abreast of the purchasing of raw materials and trim via buyer.
Follow up with all cutting tickets and Labor purchase orders through all stages of production with factories while maintaining accurate information in the company computer system as information changes.
Ensure the accurate and timely entry of cutting tickets and labor purchase orders into the system.
Submit required reporting in a timely and accurate manner
Keep updated inventories of all production fabric and trim by season.
Assist in sourcing of domestic and overseas suppliers and factories (fabrics, trims, dye houses, and sewing contractors).
Communicate with Design Director to ensure all raw materials, cutting, sewing, and Cost sheets are updated/maintained to ensure seasonal gross margin goals are met.
Report to Design Director in overseeing production schedule to ensure weekly receipts are hit and all sales orders are shipped in a timely manner.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Some apparel production experience with knowledge of garment construction and patterns.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects.
Have a sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Ability to solve problems quickly and strategically.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Computer skills Basic Microsoft Office and Excel skills. Apparel Software knowledge a plus.
Self Starter, detail oriented with strong follow up skills and highly motivated.
